<p>What is a Christmas Carol?<br />
Christmas Carols are songs or hymns that people sing thoughout winter to display a festive mood and atmosphere.  They are particularly popular in December, when especially close to December 25, people sing them in church choirs, school concerts, home gatherings, and door-to-door caroling.  The word carol originates from the Greek word choraulein.  The familiar tunes start to appear after Thanksgiving and continue until December 25.  </p>
